We offer a range of sexual health advice and treatment to people of all ages, including: contraception, free condoms, STI testing and treatment, pre-conceptual advice, unplanned pregnancy advice and emergency contraception (sometimes known as ‘The Morning After Pill’),

Emergency Contraception protects against pregnancy after unprotected sex and works best if taken within 24 hours (1 day) but can still be taken up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex.

Emergency Contraception is FREE OF CHARGE from pharmacies (Boots and Sutherlands); GPs (doctors); some Practice Nurses, Acute Receiving Unit at the Balfour Hospital (tel: switchboard on 01856 888000) and the Wednesday afternoon Young People’s Health drop-in @ the Health Centre (Wed 3.30pm-5.30pm).

A range of advice and treatment, including Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and treatment, testing for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea and HIV is also available from your GP (doctor); some Practice Nurses and the Wednesday afternoon Young People’s Health drop-in @ the Health Centre (Wed 3.30pm-5.30pm).
